What Dara made for me!
Today the UPS man made his anxiously awaited appearance and left a box of happy mail at my door. I think that many of us moms tend to do our crafting for others and leave ourselves out - I know that's the case for me. And while I love, love, love making things for other people, it's was really, really awesome to get something that someone made just for me!
There's a linky party over at Craftaholics Anonymous for the things you've made and received, and I confess to stalking it for the last few days to see if mine were going to show up there. There were a number of great gifts that I clicked on, hoping they might be for me. I can honestly say though that I was even more excited by what she sent me than anything I saw over there (not that they weren't all great gifts).
I was sitting here today thinking how lame I was for not having done anything for the 4th of July. I usually have at least hair bows made for my girls, but this year I hadn't even gotten that far. So I was tickled pink to open Dara's gift and find it filled with red, white, and blue.
The first thing that caught my eye was this awesome red, white, and blue pom pom garland on red and white baker's twine. I LOVE garlands/banners/pennants (as evidenced perhaps by the pennant I sent her lol).
I love pom pom crafts, and it was just the perfect length to stretch across my living room mantle, which is where it is right now, making me smile every time I see it. :) I also love that the pom poms can be moved on the twine so that you can group them closer together or space them evenly, giving the garland a whole new look!
Also inside were - be still my heart - two mason jars with daisy cut straw lids! I've had my eye on some lids like these for ages!
And just to really knock it out of the park, she included a package of red, white, and blue paper straws. I LOVE paper straws! I just think they're so sweet and summery!
Dara, you did awesome! This was my first gift exchange, and I was so pleased with how it turned out! I can't wait for the next one!

Craftaholics Anonymous Handmade Gift Exchange
So I participated in this awesome handmade gift exchange over at Craftaholics Anonymous. It was so much fun! I was partnered up with Dara, and I was so excited to send her package off in the mail. She won't get it until Monday, but I wanted to go ahead and post her gifts here so that I can link up to the linky party. Here's what I sent:
First up I made her an adjustable bookmark. I stalked her Pinterest, and we became Facebook friends, and she sure seems like a girl who loves to read, so I hope this will brighten her books up!
I also made her this little mug rug so that she has a place to set her coffee and snack when she's curled up with a book.
She said that she loves pink, so I tried to make sure there was a touch of it in almost everything I sent. I hope this wire wrapped ring will fit her just right!
I also made this sweet little cabochon pendant and strung it on a suede string.
I love these little felt zipper pouches, and I've made them from all kinds of prints, but I especially loved this teal floral with a hot pink zipper.
And last but not least, a fun little felt pennant to add a little color and sunshine to her home!
I'm so excited for her to get her package, and I can't wait to get mine from her!
A huge thank you to Linda from Craftaholics Anonymous for putting this exchange together!

She has two beautiful little girls, and I wanted to include something for them, so I made cupcake themed bows for them, because what little girl doesn't love cupcakes?

Hargrave Family
This special family means a lot to me. Deborah's sister is married to my brother, so I have the pleasure of being called "Aunt Tracy" by David and Jonah, something that never fails to make me smile. :)
Brown Family
So it's been a bit quiet around here. As many of you know I gave birth to a baby boy in January, and I took some time off from photography there for a bit. But I'm happy to show off some highlights from two lovely sessions I had last week! In this post, say hello to the Brown Family!

Jason and Suzi’s Engagement Session
Jason and Suzi contacted me a few months ago about wedding photography, and I’ve been looking forward to getting them in front of my camera ever since! They’ll be tying the knot next month, and for their engagement shoot we decided to head up to Lincoln Memorial University where Jason proposed.
The campus was just beautiful, and I have to say, it was well worth the drive! Jason popped the question inside a gorgeous stone bath house, and the timelessness of the stone architecture and the surrounding hills provided the perfect setting for the beginning of an eternity together.
It was such a privilege to get to see where it all began for them, and I can’t wait to be there next month when they take the next step into forever!
